Moonshadow
The inspiration behind the Moonshadow collection came from the sheer beauty of the moonstone. Barbara created a collection that would showcase the opulence of the precious gemstones by setting them into the finest metals of gold, platinum, and silver contrasting their moon-like glow with the brightness and sparkle of diamonds.
Moonstones are among the world’s most beautiful gemstones and Barbara has created unique and timeless designs to maximise the adularescence of these ethereal gemstones.
The colour, opulence, and sheen of a moonstone will determine what design the gemstone will be set in. Unlike some manufacturers who duplicate pieces and set any stone into the design, Barbara Tipple hand makes each unique piece specially for the chosen stone. It is important to set a gemstone in the correct colour metal to enhance the beauty of the gemstone. Warmer coloured stones come alive when they are set in yellow golds whereas some gemstones require a cooler setting such as platinum or silver.
Once Barbara has chosen the perfect gemstone then she will decide if it is to be set into a ring, pendant, or earrings. You will see moonstones across many of our collections including rare moonstone bracelets. Oval moonstones set into our Rhiannon rings, sterling silver hand forged rings with 18ct yellow gold settings to intensify the colours of the top-quality rainbow moonstones Barbara uses.
Our Night and Day collection is set with beautiful round rainbow moonstone next to darkened silver to contrast the brightness of the moonstone against the dark texture of the hand-carved sterling silver. The Moonshadow earrings are a statement piece using top quality round rainbow moonstones and contrasting them with the brightness of round brilliant diamonds set in a handmade platinum crescent moon. These moonstone earrings will have an impact worn on any occasion.
Barbara designed this collection to be worn from day to night. An understated design using the highest quality materials to make them a truly eye-catching wearable piece of art. Barbara works closely alongside her master goldsmith and silversmith to ensure her designs are made to the highest standard. Our workshops are on-site so every process of the manufacturing is done in harmony with maximum communication between goldsmith and designer to create bespoke, one-off pieces that you will enjoy wearing for a lifetime.
Each Barbara Tipple design is hand-made in our workshops in Hampshire and London. Not one piece of jewellery is the same. We use traditional goldsmith techniques to ensure every design is made with passion and integrity.
