Designed and Created
All of Barbara’s designs are inspired by the natural world. It is observation and a great deal of inspiration in the mind. Barbara has the natural ability to visualise 3 dimensionally, so a great deal of working out is done in the mind before Barbara starts making endless sketches of her vision. Once on paper, the design is carved out using plaster or sometimes clay to make sure the shapes work before the goldsmith starts working in precious metal. Barbara will then work closely with the goldsmiths to oversee every detail of the piece being made in our British workshops.
